Originally built in 1929 as a hunting and fishing lodge for a private owner, Sky Lodge has been welcoming guests for almost 100 years. The lodge itself provides understated elegance with sweeping views of the mountains and the Moose River Valley below. When you step into to the main lodge you’ll be swept back in time by the beauty of the meticulously restored structure; the largest fully log lodge east of the Mississippi River.
Its beauty is only matched by our authentic hospitality, simple yet exceptional dining, and unrivaled setting for a picturesque Maine wedding. Our service is attentive, while not being overstated, providing you a bit of luxury perfectly matched for a Maine lodge wedding.
Nestled on a hill with sweeping mountain views, our historic lodge property is the perfect place for your Maine wedding.
Included in your rental you have access to the main lodge and surrounding lawns, which includes the bar and lounge, expansive airstrip for tent weddings and ceremonies, and outdoor deck with fire pit.
A Picture Perfect Place
Whether indoor or out, Sky Lodge offers an array of captivating spaces for your wedding ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, or other celebration. Enjoy the expanse of our retired airstrip, which once welcomed pilots for days of rest and rejuvenation in our guest rooms, for a ceremony set between mountain views and the vast wilderness that surrounds the lodge. Or set a more intimate scene with your vows tucked under the grand staircase in the great room with guests above in our balcony.
Whether your looking to make your wedding a three-day celebration or an intimate family affair, it is required that you and your guests book the guest rooms in the lodge in their entirety for the night of your wedding. There are 8 rooms ($120-$135 per night) not including the Sutro Suite, which is included in your wedding package. Additional cabins and rental homes are also available on the property for your guests. These do have a two-night minimum and offer a private place for guests to unwind. In addition, we handle all guest reservations and provide the option of a hold on lodging for up to 90 days before your wedding. With the variety of lodging on-site and nearby, there is surely something to fit the needs of all of your guests.
The Mountain View Dining Room overlooks the Moose River valley and surrounding mountains, nestled in the historic Sky Lodge. After, Unity College was donated Sky Lodge, work began to reinvigorate life into the Mountain View Dining room. This once bustling restaurant had been used privately for small groups for the last two decades. Now open again to the public, Chef Nellie Booth is cooking from the heart with a passion for simple, exceptional food.
She crafts new menus each week made from high-quality ingredients, as well as innovative recipes developed with today’s needs and trends in mind. Each menu is a nod to times gone by, with favorites that you may have found on one of the most weathered cards in your great-grandmother’s recipe box. We mirror this same work and love for food as we create a menu for your event. Catering rates range from $36-$68 per person, and include 2-4 appetizers for cocktail hour, non-alcoholic beverage service, and cake cutting.
We like to keep things simple, with most everything you could need from a venue included in our packge. Pricing varies based on guest count and time of year, for more information please reach out to our team at email@example.com.
