At the beginning of August, Sky Lodge welcomed a group of incoming Unity College students preparing for their first year of college. This distinctive orientation is designed to support the transition to Unity College life by emphasizing personal growth, building social connections, and promoting environmental stewardship.
During their time at Sky Lodge, students worked with trained trail specialists and devoted many hours to rehabilitating an old trail on the property; helping Unity College: Sky Lodge work towards revitalizing our historic trail system. Time was also spent learning the history of Sky Lodge through a walking tour and exploration of the train and car museums located on the property.
Students also adventured locally to Attean Pond to learn canoe skills and enjoyed exploring local waterfalls near Spencer Dam and the U.S. Canadian border. Through their Nova experience, students learned what it takes to break trail, meet new friends, and build lasting connections all while enjoying Unity College’s newest property, Sky Lodge.
